What could you lose on a strike?

If a strike happens, all associates in the bargaining unit could be pressured to walk out on their patients and walk a picket line. The union would have to give a 10-day notice to the hospital.

  • Because patient care is a top priority, LUH may hire replacements and can lock out associates for a period of time.
  • If the strike lasts a long time, medical benefits could be impacted and may cost you more.
  • You may not be able to use your PTO while on strike.
  • Associates who are on strike aren’t entitled to unemployment benefits and food stamps, in most cases.
